An autodidactic photojournalist, I began my photographic career at the agencies Gamma and Magnum in the mid 1970s.
My first assignment was for the Los Angeles Times. In the early 1980s I covered the ready to wear runway shows in Paris. Then, as a freelancer for Associated Press Paris, I joined the staff of l’Express and covered political, economic and cultural events locally in Paris and throughout France. Gerard Rancinan retained my services in his agency GLMR to do magazine photojournalism abroad. His enterprise met with bankruptcy, so I once again went independent. I then joined the staff of Disney to document the construction of their future entertainment park at Marne-la-Vallee.
I have been working freelance since the early nineties. Citizen K, Optimum, Vital, VSD, Glamour, Ideat, GQ and other magazines: I multiply my collaborations, including those with communication agencies. I specifically navigate toward original titles that privilege photography.
My developer? A passion for the image in general as I cut my teeth on television in the 1960s...My objective? To encounter people from different places and origins, to discover places full bore as activities; a permanent apprenticeship that renews my daily work as a photographer....My focal length? Working with geometry and light, writing the present to know what it will hold of the past...
